Common questions
Every label is underlined — what does it mean?
Hover over a label, or tap it on a phone, for an explanation of that setting.
The text comes out a different size on the wall
Published lens angles are nominal. Project an open-circle gobo square-on at a known throw, measure the circle, and enter both in Fixture ▸ Size calibration ▸ Calibrate. That fixes the absolute size; the keystone shape does not depend on it.
Which position do I copy from Vectorworks?
A lighting device's X, Y and Z is its hanging point: usually the top of the yoke, or the pipe centre if a clamp accessory is attached. Enter it as the hang point in Fixture ▸ Rigging, set Point is to match, and paste the focus point into Aim at ▸ Focus point. With upstage at the top of the plan, the axes line up with Gobo Designer's.
The status pill is red
It names the problem; click it to jump to the tab that fixes it. The checks under the views explain each one and offer a fix where there is one.
Downloads don't work on my phone
Browsers built into other apps often cannot save files. Open the page in Safari or Chrome.
Is my work saved?
Your current project is kept in this browser as you work, and nowhere else. Use Save to keep a file you can open on another computer.
Which way round does the gobo go in?
Every exported sheet says how it is drawn — as seen from the lamp side, or as projected — and carries a 12 o'clock mark. Tell your gobo maker which, and check their proof.
